Summary: 83 bucks!? You got to be kidding me!
Comment: Who would've ever thought one of the best bad movies of the 80's would sell for around 80 bucks?! The world is sure coming to an end. This movie is awesome the effects are crappy, the lines are some of the stupidest things no real person would ever utter, the plot is flimsy and simple, the acting is horrible and the costumes are cheesy cool. That means this movie kicks righteous ass. I'm telling this movie will have you in stitches and put you in a good mood. 80 bucks what an insult to this movie its priceless and belongs in a mueseum it is a piece of art gone horribly wrong! I gurantee this movie is not bad crappy film it is good crappy film with a kick ass Queen score. Trust me its worth the money.

Summary: Excellent movie! When is it being re-released in the US???
Comment: Excellent movie, way ahead of it's time. Everything a superhero movie could want and more. There are very colorful scenes, great characters and a lot of action. The Queen soundtrack makes this a classic movie of the 80's! I own the Laserdisc version and it still impresses me. I want to know when are they going to re-release this DVD in the good ole U.S.A.??? I see that there is a 25th Anniversary but it is for region 2 dvd players only. Hope they give us a version packed with the same extras as the region 2 DVD.

Summary: All-American Flash released in the UK
Comment: Well, the special, remastered re-release we are all waiting for happened - in Britan! You can buy it from Amazon.co.uk for about �7 (US$14.00-ish), but it won't play on Region 1 (North America, US Territories, and Bermuda) DVD players - only on Region 2 (Japan, Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East, including Egypt) or a regionless DVD player, which are available to US customers many places online these days. (Google for "regionless dvd player".)
The UK version even includes a "Behind The Scenes" featurette, deleted scenes, and the theatrical trailer.

Summary: The 25th Anniversary re-release is PAL only!
Comment: FYI, they did come out with a re-release of this movie, with extras and remastered, etc., but it is PAL tv system only, meaning it won't play on NTSC sets here in the US. Bummer! your best best would be to buy it from the UK (or other Pal system country) then buy the CyberHome CH-DVD 300S player which plays both PAL and NTSC discs for $37 here at Amazon. You'll probably still come out "ahead".

When the totalitarian planet of Mongo decides on a whim to obliterate Earth, it's up to the lunk-headed quarterback Flash Gordon and his oddball companions to make the universe safe for democracy. Based on the classic (and infinitely more reputable) comic strip and its '30s screen serialization, this cotton-candy-colored trash classic deserves immortality for Queen's unforgettably pulsating soundtrack alone. The legendary Max von Sydow appears to be having a blast as the evil Ming the Merciless, while Ornella Muti, as his daughter, is the living embodiment of what attracts adolescent boys to comics in the first place. (She makes Barbarella look mundane.) One of the most shamelessly entertaining movies ever made, this is a knowingly absurd sensory freak-out that'll have the viewer blissfully checking the sky afterward for signs of Hawkmen. --Andrew Wright
