Customer Rating: Summary: Just what I needed Comment: I love this little microphone. It works considerably well with my MD recorder. The stereo lapel mic that came with the recorder worked great, but 1. It looks funny for video applications... and 2. If I wasn't using for a video application, it just felt wierd to use it as it was. So this mic is just perfect. And the carrying bag that comes with it is extra large so... I can fit my MD recorder, a few accessories, the spring-loaded mic holder for my stand, and the microphone itself inside like a glove. I call it my "mini-studio in a bag".
And for reference the MD Recorder I am using is a HI-MD SONY MZ-M100.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sony digital recording microphne ECMMS907 Comment: ThIS LITTLE NMICROPHONE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE VERY VERY BEST THING OUT THERE!!!i HAVE BEEN A PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN FOR 50 YEARS NOW AND HAVE USED SOME OF THE TOP NAME BRANDS. nOTHING COMPARES.cONGRATS SONY!! YOU HAVE COME UP WITH ANOTHER WINNER.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sony ECMMS907 Digital Recording Microphone Comment: It works great. I wanted to have a quick way to record musical ideas, a rehearsal or a live show with my Sony minidisc recorder and this mic does the trick! Sure, it's not going to be perfect or the "best possible sound quality", but that's not the intent of the product in the first place.
I have had great results so far and highly recommend this product!
Customer Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC Comment: This is a really good microphone! A friend of mine recommended it, and I'm so glad I made the purchase. Seeing is believing, so try it! If it could be just a little bit smaller it would be perfect, but it comes with a neat little stand that will let you swivel the microphone in any possible direction.
Customer Rating: Summary: Piano Recording using the Sony ECMMS907 digital stereo mike. Comment: I purchased this microphone to record piano playing in my living room via the Griffin iMic to my Mac iBook using the software "WireTap Pro" version 1.11. I have mounted the Mike on the side of my grand piano, where the wall curves. I have made very good recordings, and I am happy with the unit and it's price. I didn't find the recordings to be as good when I attempted to record from some distance away from the piano. Recording from close up and adjusting the sensitivity in the software to avoid distortion seems to be the best way to accomplish my purpose. The unit seems to be a cost-effective solution for my kind of use. I have given it a 4/5 rating although I purchased it with little knowledge of the field overall, and I am not able to make any comparisons.

This compact, portable microphone is for advanced amateur use and is ideal for instrumental recording, thanks to Sony's sensitive Electret condenser microphone. The one-point stereo design--a single mic for stereo recording--is like having two microphones in one. This mic is ideal for portable DAT or MD digital recorders, with a frequency response of up to 18,000 Hz and a 90 dB dynamic range, and is a great complement to digital recording systems. The mid/side (MS) capsules create a natural stereo panorama; the mid capsule picks up monophonic sound while the side capsule picks up left/right difference sound. Subtracting and adding the two capsule signals yields separate left and right channels and permits electronic adjustment of the pickup angle. The mid/side (MS) switch also selects pickup angle between the left and right channels. Choose 90 degrees for a single voice or instrument, or 120 degrees to pick up many voices and instruments arranged across the stage. The rotating mid capsule adjusts the stereo-pickup pattern for a wide range of recording situations. A Cannon XLR connector from the microphone body to the supplied cable provides a secure, reliable, low-noise connection, while the oxygen-free copper Litz cord ensures superlative conductivity, minimum loss, and minimum noise. The L-shaped stereo miniplug fits most portable recorders. Supplied accessories include a detachable cable, stand, holder, windscreen, and carrying case.
