Customer Rating: Summary: Nice quality - forget the manual Comment: I think I would have been better off wihout the manual for this item! I could not get it to work and finally after reading the reviews here, I got it to work...but not at first. It took several reset sequences. I'm not looking forward to changing the batteries and going through it all over again. Once up and running, I really like this product. I've had many chances to see it operate since it has rained just about every day since I installed it. It indeed is inaccurate compared to a low-tech-but-accurate rain gauge. It consistently reads low. So, I'm now in the process of moving the factory preset calibration screws inside until it reads close to the manual gauge.
Customer Rating: Summary: Challenging Product Comment: The directions for this item were obviously written in China or Japan. It comes
with batteries installed, but one must remove a plastic protective device first. Directions don't tell this. Then one must remove numerous tiny screws to access the battery chamber.
The outer cover has tiny screws also, but of a different size than those inside, necessitating the use of two different sized small phillips screw drivers. We had
to use tweezers to re-install some screws. Once set up the product did perform well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Oregon Scientific Rain Gauge review. Comment: The rain gage is working properly and conforms to the specifications as outlined in the product description. I can recommend the purchase of this item.
Customer Rating: Summary: Rain Guage Comment: Works just fine however the Southern California Area is in a dry spell
Customer Rating: Summary: Great gadget Comment: Our whole family gets involved of how much rain we get during the day and night.
