Customer Rating: Summary: DOES THE JOB IT WAS MADE TO DO. Comment: I HAVE VALIDATED THE READINGS FROM MORE THAN ONE SOURCE AND FOUND THE UNIT TO BE VALID AND RELIABLE. SINCE IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE AND DOES WORK WELL THROUGHOUT THE WALLS AND AT A DISTANCE ACROSS THE HOUSE, I'M NOT SURE WHAT ONE MIGHT COMPLAIN ABOUT WITH THIS PRODUCT.
Customer Rating: Summary: THGR268 REMOTE TEMPERATURE SENSOR Comment: I purchased this unit as a replacement for the one I had. The reason for the 4 star rating and not 5 star rating is because the humidity indicator portion of this unit does not go to a 100 pct. The highest it goes is 98 pct. I'm assuming this is some sort of calibration misalignment but there are no adjustments for realigning the unit if it drifts off. Other than that, it works just fine.
Customer Rating: Summary: Different temperature readings Comment: I bought three sensors and all three shows different readings for temperatue and humidity. Not a big difference (+/-1 degree Celcius) but still annoying
Customer Rating: Summary: Cheapest Reliable Humidity Sensor Comment: You can find a cheaper humidity sensor, but it won't be reliably accurate. This one is. It is also well built. I use it to control humidity in my house.
Be careful; Amazon continues to list the wrong .pdf manual for it (as of Feb 21, 2006). The one they link to is for a THC268 unit, which is similar, but only has a thermometer (no humidity sensor). I wrote them a month ago about this, but they don't seem competent enough to correct it. Fortunately, the correct manual did come with the unit when I ordered it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works very good Comment: I purchased the Oregon Scientific Base unit a few months back and decided to add two more remote sensors to montior temperature and humidity in all my farm buildings. This product works very good, even over a distance of about 200 feet from my house to barn.

Perfect for a garden, greenhouse, wine cellar, or baby's room, this remote, wireless sensor--designed as an add-on for use with any Oregon Scientific cable-free thermo-hygrometer monitor--displays the indoor or outdoor temperature and humidity where it's located and also radios the data to the monitor, which is not included. The sensor can be placed up to 90 feet away from the monitor, and the channel it uses can be selected from among three options, permitting this sensor to be used with two others by the same monitor. It displays temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, with a range of minus-4 to 140 degrees F. It operates on two AA batteries (which are not included), has a low-battery indicator, measures 4-1/8 by 2-3/4 inches, and can be set on a flat surface with a stand or mounted on a wall (stand and wall mount are included). --Fred Brack
