Summary: the first and one of the best for sure.
Comment: Next year this movie will be 70 years old.It is still a visual treat!
The animation is very detailed and beautiful, the colors after restoration have become full and alive. The scene where the Wicked Queen transforms herself into the old hag is still frightful and stunning. She is my favorite character of the movie. The story is funny, frightening and sweet at once. A true classic that everyone should own, regardless of how hard a copy is to buy these days...

Summary: Disney's Limited Issue: Dumbest. Idea. Ever.
Comment: Disney. Listen up. You make movies for children. People have children who didn't have them before. Those children grow up and aren't children anymore. Are your DVDs only for the people who happen to have children during the period you choose to sell them?

When this movie was released, I didn't have a child. I didn't buy Snow White. Now that she is getting to the age that she might enjoy it THE MOVIE ISN'T AVAILABLE! I WANT to buy Snow White, but I CAN'T buy Snow White. By the time you decide to re-release it SHE WILL BE TOO OLD TO ENJOY IT! I WON'T buy Snow White.

This idea of limited issue of children's movies has to be the dumbest idea...ever.

Comment: When Walt Disney released Snow Whitw, it wasn't a revolution. It was jsut a way to bring F***** fairytales into movies. Seriously, why does everybody think that their price will come? HA HA!! Stop thinking that teenage girls. There is on such thing as a prince who rides on a horse in tights(one reason why I hate Link) and sve you. Sure, they could save yoo from real dangers(which I would do for the gilr Ilove), but come on girls. It's no longer the medevil times and it's called the modern world. Grow up. (however, the price charming prhase of course is 100% correct, but don't expect the woodcutter).

This movie is acclaimed for it's animation, and the story is nothing original. A Princess is tricked by an old lady with an apple. Haven't we read that before? And of course, the technical limitaions are great(The only reason why I appreciate WEalt Dinsey), but the story is about as stupid as the come. Speaking of stories, why does it seem that every old DInsey movie ripped of original stories. Snow White, Pinochio, Sleeping Beauty, The hunchback of Notre Dame, all of these have obvious influlences. Basically, all they are doing are making remakes of old stories, adding stupid humor, neat and tidy animation, cutesy songs, and of course: the totally gross, disgusting, hold in your barf songs that make Good Charlotte look like hardcore rockstars(that's really hard to do).

So in short, don't get this if you are a mature, guy(maybe even a girl) who dosne't believe in this prince crap. If you want anything good by Disney, Get Fantasia, or the Pixar Films(that have humor). OR instead of this, whatch Steamboat Willie(I love that cartoon).

Summary: the best it has ever looked!!!!!
Comment: when i first saw this film back in the early 90's, i saw something great in it, and so when it was released for the first time on video cassette, i snapped it up pretty fast. Well time has taken it's toll on this vhs now, and the picture is unbalanced, grainy, and has white lines that appear every so often. seeing this beloved film in such sad shape was depressing.

when i purchased the new platinum dvd, I was amazed. The colors, characters, and unforgettable music leapt out of the screen and it was like looking through a window the picture was so clear, and the colors were vibrant. one would hardly believe after watching this crisp new version that the film was first realeased in 1937

Editorial Reviews:

One of the brightest nuggets from Disney's golden age, this 1937 film is almost dizzying in its meticulous construction of an enchanted world, with scores of major and minor characters (including fauna and fowl), each with a distinct identity. When you watch Snow White's intricate, graceful movements of fingers, arms, and head all in one shot, it is not the technical brilliance of Disney's artists that leaps out at you, but the very spirit of her engaging, girl-woman character. When the wicked queen's poisoned apple turns from killer green to rose red, the effect of knowing something so beautiful can be so terrible is absolutely elemental, so pure it forces one to surrender to the horror of it. Based on the Grimm fairy tale, Snow White is probably the best family film ever to deal, in mythic terms, with the psychological foundation for growing up. It's a crowning achievement and should not be missed. --Tom Keogh
