Summary: Magazine for Healthy Living
Comment: I'll agree with everyone else and say that this magazine probably does need a new name. However, I love all the other features in the magazine! It is Cooking Light, but there is so much more - always an article on a travel destination, an article on beauty, and an article on a sport, as well as other constants. The theme of the magazine is total healthy living, incorporating health issues and exercise as well as healthy food, though I do think that it is mostly a food magazine. I gave it four stars because while the recipies do look good, some of the ingredients are a bit too sophisticated for everyday and too expensive.

Summary: Needs a new name
Comment: The recipes included are good, but this is not a "cooking" magazine. This is a women's fitness magazine in disguise. While I am all for a magazine that focuses on overall health and fitness, it shouldn't advertise itself as a cooking magazine. There is way too much other junk. If I wanted a makeover or an exercise routine, I don't expect to go to my cooking magazine to get that.

Summary: Recipes Are Delish!
Comment: Okay, this magazine ROCKS! The recipes are absolutely wonderful and easy to make. Plus, they're healthy!! What could be better than that?? In terms of healthy cooking, this magazine is my #1 fav, with Rachael Ray's new magazine a close 2nd.

Comment: I wanted more recipes and this magazine has too much other junk in it. Will not renew, not what I wanted.

Summary: Could not live without this magazine
Comment: I have been receiving Cooking Light for about 10 years now. I love this magazine. Frankly, it is about the only place I go for recipies. The first thing I do each month is go to the back of the magazine and right to the Index page and check out the "Greatest Hits" for that issue. That is where I start. I would love to make more from CL, but just don't have the time. I do love the web site and use it extensively for recipe searches. Even tho CL offers the yearly recipe index, it is easier for me to find it on line, print it, then put it in my 3 ring binder.

Thanks CL for such a great magazine.

Editorial Reviews:

Focused on "healthy living" rather than chronic dieting, Cooking Light is geared towards both the veteran cook who wants to "lighten up" and the novice determined to give up prepackaged "diet" meals. Each issue covers a different theme, from "superfast suppers" to "pretty, easy fruit pies," and includes features on food-related health trends; fast, healthy meals; and original recipes from readers. We especially like it when the editors rescue a reader's favorite, albeit fatty, recipe, giving it a healthy makeover, showing before-and-after stats on calories, fat, and cholesterol. The message is clear: you don't have to sacrifice the foods you love once you learn to "eat smart." --Daphne Durham
