Customer Rating: Summary: My favorite magazine, and I am getting it free! Comment: Why pay for it, when you can get a full year subscription for People magazine for Free! I got mine from this web site: stufffreesite.com/peoplemag
Customer Rating: Summary: Same old song and dance Comment: I echo the same gripe that other reviewers have voiced here: The magazine covers the same handful of people week after week after boring week. How many times is a reader going to see no talents such as Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes joke, and THE most overrated, overhyped people of all time Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the cover and not get tired of it?
It's nice to know what's going on with certain celebrities once in a while but every single week? Can you say "overkill?"
I'm glad I never got a subscription to this magazine. I picked it up every once in a while on the newsstand but stopped because I was so sick and tired of reading about overrated, overhyped and glorified B-movie "actors" and "actresses" who were lucky to be in one successful movie and haven't done anything of value since.
I picked up a copy today and have sworn it off forever. Don't waste your time or your money. - Donna Di Giacomo
Customer Rating: Summary: Losing to US Weekly Comment: People magazine, it seems to me, is getting its bootie kicked by US Weekly. People doesn't seem to have the "inside" hot, juicy gossip that US Weekly has. I still read People every week, but it just doesn't seem to be as "in depth" as US Weekly. And no, I do not work for US Weekly ... I'm simply a college student, who enjoys the hot gossip out of Hollywood, and US, in my opinion, quenches my thirst more so than People.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tinsel talk Comment: Once years ago 'People' would have, if I am not mistaken , articles on people outside the worlds of glitz and tinsel. Now it seems to have degenerated into another kind of low- pop-culture mag which belongs to what Mencken called 'the booboisie'.
It is disheartening to think that millions of people give time and attention to this kind of fluff.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very nice Comment: Item was delivered when I was told it would be and I didn't have any other issues regarding this purchase. I'd say that's pretty smooth.

People is the most wildly, consistently successful magazine in history (not to mention the most stolen from lunchrooms) and it's avidly read by half the population of America each year. Why? The people at People know what you want to read: the absolute latest, impossible-to-get dish on celebrity scandals (a $3-million-a-year fact-checking department keeps it real); definitive tribute issues; snappy wrap-ups on the whereabouts of yesterday's stars and the current Most Beautiful People; riveting stories of real folks caught up in the day's biggest news, health, and crime stories; and quick picks and pans on what's up in entertainment. And after years of black-and-white drabness, the mag has fully mastered the art of flashy, full-color photography. --Bob Brandeis
