Summary: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Comment: The worst customer support that there is. I tried this the day after I ordered it from Amazon. It had a cracked top. I called customer service because they say the product comes with a warranty. They told me that THE WARRANTY APPLIES TO THE DAY IT WAS MANUFACTURED, NOT THE DATE OF PURCHASE. She checked my serial number and said that the unit was out of warranty. WHAT, OUT OF WARRANTY AFTER ONE DAY.
I don't know how they can get away with this. The item was brand new when I recieved it. Would I go and buy a car and purchase a 3 year warranty only to have them tell me that since the car was over 3 years old it didn't apply?
The Worst...BUYER BEWARE....Don't waste your money!!!

Summary: not as advertised
Comment: I bought two of these a year ago. Have had maybe six months of operation with them in all over this period. This product is complicated to operate, finicky and prone to malfunction, consumes a dollar a day in propane, and has had no noticible effect on bugs in my lowcountry South Carolina yard. So now I have two five hundred dollar white elephants.
Could the whole Mosquito Magnet story simply be a hoax?

Summary: Doesn't work after a few months
Comment: I have three Mosquitio Magnets that I bought last year. They worked great for a few months then only give "fault" indications thereafter and won't work. This is a defectively designed or manufactured product. I have never submitted Amazon reviews before this product. I feel so cheated that I want to warn others about it. Three bad devices for me, and many other reviews reporting the same problems, means that you purchase this product with great risk.

Comment: I might try this thing again this year. Then again, I might not. I had it running last summer and it caught all of two--count 'em, TWO--mosquitos all summer. I thought maybe it wouldn't catch enough to make a dent in the local population, but this is ridiculous. The thing was set up and running properly as near as I can tell and I am not inclined to lay out cash for a new tank of propane every 3 weeks on the hopes that it MIGHT catch a mosquito.

Summary: Works Really Well - You Have to Follow Directions Exactly
Comment: I have had this model for two years and am thrilled with it, as we are able to sit outdoors and have dinner on summer evenings with NO mosquitoes. From what I have read, the company had some manufacturing problems in its early years but that the current models are extremely effective. There are a couple of things you must do: you should start using the trap immediately when temps reach 50 degrees. So if you are in the south, that is now! You have to run it 24 hours a day with no interruptions or the mosquitoes will return. You also have to place it correctly on your property. Many early users set the thing down right on the patio which only attracts the bugs to where you are. You want to set it about 40 feet away, preferably in the shade. You absolutely must change the propane and attractant capsules every 21 days. Mark this on your calendar - you do not want to let these run out or again, the mosquitoes will return. There are clear instructions with the trap, and you should follow them as carefully as you do when setting up a computer. If you do all this I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I am so impressed with mine I have started giving them to family members as gifts.
