Summary: Malfunction
Comment: After a couple months, the humidity became stuck at 20%. Even holding it by my humidifier didn't help.

Summary: Very accurate, good for a baby's room as well!
Comment: My wife tasked me with finding a good thermometer and hygrometer (humidity meter) for our 1st baby's room. After much research, I finally settled upon this make and model. If you are a new parent and are considering this model, let me provide some reasons why I chose this one over all others:

- It is not backlit. This is a plus because our baby tends to focus on any lights (small, big, blinking, steady) that might come from a clock, an appliance, etc. when we are trying to put him down for sleep. As long as we could read the display in dim light, that's all we needed
- It has a big LCD display, which makes it easy to read in dim light as per above
- It has min/max memory. Sounds gimmicky right? I thought so too but after using it several times, I can say it's very handy. If you want to make sure your baby's room is staying within a certain temperature/humidity, it is handy to know how cold at night or hot during day the room got. Believe it or not, this tipped me off that our heater had been turned off by mistake one night because it got 2 degrees colder than normal. Fortunately, it was only 2 degrees but it did prove its usefulness. It also proved to me the accuracy of the radiant heater we bought (Delonghi 6707E - see my review on that) was very good so I was reassured my baby's room never was dropping below a set temperature which was being maintained by the heater.
- It is portable. There are many whiz-bang full feature weather stations you can buy but why spend all that money if its main use is for the baby room. We just got back from visiting the in laws and they live in a much colder area. My wife was glad she brought along this Taylor 1452 because we were able to monitor the temperature in the room we slept in with the baby at her parents' house and also realize how much more humid it was.

I can verify the accuracy (of at least the unit I have) is to within 0.1 Farenheit compared to commercial high accuracy and calibrated themometers I use at work. However at home most of us aren't used to reading temperature down to 0.1 F so the only gotcha with using a thermometer like this is paying attention to that digit. Thus when you read 68.9F you can think of it as 69F rather than just 68F.

If there are any negatives about this model, I'd say I wish they would make the "outside" probe removable (e.g. unpluggable). It is permanently attached with some long wire and we really have no desire to dangle it through a window and measure outside. I think eventually when the warranty period is over I'll just unsolder it from the inside but for now it just sits coiled up behind the unit.

If you are a parent looking for a good, portable & accurate thermometer with hygrometer for use in your baby's room, this unit is worth checking out.

Summary: Delivers!
Comment: Large display, Easy to read, simple to use and understand, this product has been good for me in use in a building where I needed to track humidity and in particular needed to be able to track the extremes in every 24 hour period.

I recommend it!
