Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Beware of the 20% restocking fee! Comment: The chair is not the worst I have seen, but for the price I expect much better. The chair is tilted too far back and therefor you body posture is such that it inflicts severe muscle pain in the upper back. Now I was under the impression that I ordered a $1000 chair discounter to $699 with all the features. In fact Sam Flax told me that their $1000 chair had all the features including forward tilt that would have solved my issue. However, I only got this basic chair that sells at a normal price of $699. The SAD part was that with the chair shipped a document with big letters saying that there is a 20% restocking fee. WHAT!! I never agreed to it when I purchased it. Then the next day I got another letter from SAM FLAX by mail saying the same thing. Wow, they think if they say it enough times, then it becomes true? This was never mentioned on the Amazon web site and during the check out process. So I am not willing to accept something that I never agreed to. I want to return this chair that is causing me severe pain, however, they will not accept it without a 20% charge and now it is too late to return it because they prevented me. What is even worse is that I wrote to Amazon (and Sam Flax) about this incident and I was told that there is nothing they can do for me. This is their return policy and Amazon thinks it is fair. Amazon does not seem to think it is a problem that this policy was never shared with me as a buyer before the purchase. I am a small business owner and I have spent many thousands of dollars with Amazon over the past few years and I have always been a huge advocate for Amazon. However, ignorance and treatment of their customers are totally unacceptable and they have lost all my future business and they have not heard the end of this. Please do not make the same mistake as I did by supporting Sam Flax. Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful -- till it breaks! Comment: I loved my Herman Miller Aeron chair from the day I got it. After all, who doesn't love anything colored carbon. I loved the mesh seat and back that molded to my body and let the stray breezes pass through. I loved the adjustable arms -- make that arm. For one day, as I leaned thoughtfully on one of the arms, it went slamming to the floor. The beautiful carbon-color metal had snapped in two like an ice cube on a griddle. The cost of replacing it started at $170, plus labor. Four sheetmetal screws are now holding it in place. The other arm is intact, but refuses to stay where I put it. I have a now automatic way of pulling it up and tightening it as hard as I can, which usually gives me about 20 minutes of comfort before I have to adjust. To Herman's credit, nothing else is broken. But I'm waiting, and, meanwhile, eyeing thjose $79 padded leather chairs at OfficeMax, just in case. Customer Rating: Summary: Best! office chair to this day Comment: My last job required me to sit in front of a computer for 12-14hrs a day. When I first started there the chairs were horrible. My back would be killing me just after a few hours. A few months later we got these chairs in. Wow what a difference. My back stopped hurting and for ounce I was comfortable. Comfortable enough to take a little nap. I recommend this chair. Might have to save for a few months but its totally worth it. Seriously.. Customer Rating: Summary: Listen to your Back, even if your brain is saying HOW MUCH$$ Comment: I have stopped telling people about the Aeron chair I bought on EBAY. When I shop, I dont mess around. People always ask " Thats nice, How much did that cost?" Its as if they ask the question, so they can then tell me how I spend way to much money. I didnt spend the advertised price on Amazon, it cost $550 to my door. Although slightly used (tiny scratches) it is in better condition then ones my coworkers purchased at a local used office furniture store. They paid $350-400 for Aeron chairs in ugly orange, small holes in the fabric, and mis matched arm rests. Mine looks lightly used at most for $550, and very appealing in a sapphire blue color. So am I an idiot for paying this much for a chair? ( People who ask who much the chair cost, swear up and down a good chair is less $50 brand new) My brain says a office chair over $500 is insane, but my back says it was worth every penny. Working from home for a mortgage company, I help other sales staff learn basics to processing. I also have my own clients and to deliver superior service I slave over the processing portion of my files as well. I can sit down as early as 6 AM to get a jump start on out of state loans or the lenders I deal with in other time zones. My day usually ends 8-9PM but when rate locks and packages have expiration dates I can work till 11PM. Yes, I do sit in a chair 8-11 hours and my back and shoulders were strained on a daily basis. Most of this strain is solved by the Aeron chair, it keeps my lower back supported minimizing the neck and shoulder pain. I never knew what the AERON CHAIR was until working at TECH SPACE. The office spaces were furnished and every chair was Aeron. Weeks into working from home my back pains started. 2 months agao our office relocated, and our owner needed to furnish the new offices. My first visit to the new offices,I noticed 4 AERON chairs. Our top producers had gone to a office furniture outlet and got themselves the chairs. I asked if other employees noticed not having the best chairs? Occasionally they have found someones swaping chairs leaving the economy ones purchased brand new. They even joked they were buying bicycle chains to safeguard thier office chairs from the employees who were not as fortunate to get the AERON. Bottom line, if you shop for saftey features in automobiles, and arch support when buying shoes, UV protection in Sunglasses, quality made apparel over cheap rags........this chair will save you from aches, pains, strains, and maybe stop a hunch back in the future. The cost is something you have to swallow, I have not found a comparable chair with Lumbar support anywhere on the internet after extensive research. I tried to get my employer to furnish me with one of the Aeron chairs, but my boss said she doesnt even have one. Sometimes you have to decide if your worth it and purchase it at your own expense. Its nice to see these chairs have such a huge resale value on places like EBAY as well. Customer Rating: Summary: Happy chair Comment: I love my Aeron Desk Chair. I knew ahead of time it didn't have all the bells and whistles that the $1000 one did.
