Customer Rating: Summary: A useful, simple product Comment: The "Y" Charger Adapter plugs into your mini-USB charger so you can charge your RAZR phone and Motorola headset in the same outlet at the same time. It works great with a car charger, especially if you cannot plug in two adapters at the same time. It is also small enough to be portable so you can use the same one with your standard charger at home as well.
Just be careful that your phone and headset use these specific plugs, not all phones and headsets are the same. Amazon sells a different one with 2 CE bus ends to use with older Motorola phones. If only they had one with 2 Mini USB ends to use with the newer headsets!
Customer Rating: Summary: I love the idea Comment: This looks like a great product for travel - one adapter to charge two devices. Any idea if this is available for the Blackberry 8700 and the Plantronics Bluetooth Voyager PLT510? I've been searching online for a while and have not seen anything close to this.
Customer Rating: Summary: Doesn't work with PC USB cable Comment: This Y-Adapter is great if you want to use it with an A/C charger or with a car charger.
But I had hoped I could use it with a PC USB cable, so that I wouldn't have to bring any charger!
It actually will charge a bluetooth headset (using the proprietary connector, not the mini-USB connector) from the PC's USB (assuming you already have the optional USB to mini-USB cable for your phone), but the instructions specifically tell you NOT to connect this Y-adapter to a USB cable. The instructions state to ONLY use this Y-adapter with an A/C cord or with a vehicle cord. Bummer.
It will NOT charge the phone via USB. You have to plug the phone directly into the PC (not using the Y) to get the phone to charge.
So it's still a worthwhile device that allows you to leave the bluetooth charger at home, but you will still need the phone's charger to charge the bluetooth unless you want to ignore the instructions and charge the bluetooth from the USB and Y (and the phone from the USB without the Y). Confusing? Bottom line is don't expect this to charge from PC USB, only from A/C or car charger.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't need this with an H700 Comment: I have a Cingular 2125 phone and bought a Motorola H700 headset. I thought I needed this to charge the H700 and my Cingular (mini-USB) with one charger. Not so. The H700 uses mini-USB too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Intelligent Design Comment: I am very pleased with this adapter. It is well-made and works for either the car charger or ac charger. Too bad it didn't come with the Bluetooth.
