Comment: I have a pair of headphones with the standard mini-plug connector. The new cell phones have what's called a micro-plug jack. Micro-plug jacks are even smaller than mini jacks. Now my old headsets work perfectly when using the cell phone to play MP3s.
Because of the shape of this adapter, it doesn't stick out of the side of the phone as obviously as adapter plugs. This adapter has an L-shaped connector with a short wire coming out of it. This allowing the headset wire to be closer to the body of the phone and not protrude straight out of the side and get in the way if you want to have the phone in your pocket.

Comment: This product only produces mono sound on Treo 650s, due to impedance mismatch. (3 stars given to not skew the rating terribly; it isn't advertised as supporting the Treo--I should've known better and cannot blame the product itself.)

Comment: This adapter does NOT work with the LG vx8100. When I plug it into my phone, with or without headphones attached, the music stops and will only restart when I restart the MP3 player.

Comment: I can confirm this also works with the Samsung SCH-a950 V-Cast phone. Works fine with my 3.5mm iPod earbuds, in stereo. Volume is not overly loud, in fact, I wish it was louder.
