Summary: easy grillin and lovin it!
Comment: Hey this grill is better than charcoal. Add the bricuets provided and you have tasty,juicy, tender steaks and chicken even when the steaks are well done! Vegetables also cook up wonderfully well. To make clean up easy just wipe your grate with cooking oil prior to each use. No scrubbing needed. As a women i found the grill easy to assemble. You can't go wrong. Lastly Char-Broil 800 toll free telephone service is excellent, even on sundays!

Comment: There is officially no substitute for a gas grill because I owed both the gas and electric version of this one and the difference is astronomical... The gas version is one of the best grills I have ever owned... The electric is the worst...

Summary: Great alternative if you can't use charcoal/gas
Comment: The complex we live in does not allow open flame on the balcony, which rules out both gas and charcoal grills. I opted for this Char-Broil electric grill, based on the reviews I read here on Amazon.
Positives: This grill really does a nice job cooking, in general. You really should read the directions; you need to leave the lid on and regulate the thermostat as directed in the manual. That being said, I've grilled veggies, fish, burgers, steaks and chicken with great success on this grill. Because of the steady electric heating, I can cook my steaks and burgers to a *perfect* medium (pink (not red) and warm throughout, but with a brown, crispy crust) with little effort.
Negatives: You *must* keep the grill clean and briquettes changed (especially if you use it frequently!) to avoid grease fires (see other reviews). When you lift the lid, temperature drops quickly. You should have a heavy-duty outdoor outlet to plug this into, which all patios don't have, especially in apartment complexes. Assembly is a bit confusing until you decipher the Ikea-inspired assembly instructions.
Bottom Line: This is a really fine grill, particularly if you are in a situation where you can't use open flame. With a little patience and attention to the cooking instructions, you can get results that are on par with a regular gas/charcoal grill.

Comment: This was a transition from charcoal to electric grill. Believe me this has been the best decision. I live in an apartment in Charlotte, NC and size is always a factor. Extremely easy to use. I love it. "NO SMOKE"

Summary: char-broil patio caddie electric grill
Comment: This is a great grill for small areas and 2-4 people. Cooking time is very good. Had no problems with assembly since I have an arm prothesis. Amazon price and delivery time was the best yet.
