Summary: Kills the wrong bugs!!!!
Comment: What a waste of money. This type of device has been proven to kill the wrong bugs!! It does not attract mosquitos or black flies or gnats or no-see-ums. Only the bugs that eat them. Consumerreports had show this evidence conclusively.

Summary: It scares the dogs
Comment: I bought this for out on the patio, where the dogs sleep, to try and kill the bugs but its so noisy when its zapping the insects that the dogs are scared to stay up on the porch while its running. When a large insect gets in there it can make a loud zap for a long while.
It has killed some mosquitoes so far but it's mostly moths and green lacewings that are being killed.
It would be great if they could make this quieter and make the grid a bit smaller so larger insects don't get caught up in it.

Summary: No help with mosquitoes!
Comment: Unlike the previous reviewer, we have not found the Flowtron to be helpful with our mosquito problem at all. Seems like it keeps some other kinds of bugs -- moths, flies, gnats -- at bay, but we are still getting bitten terribly even after using the device for a couple of weeks (with the mosquito "bait"). We're going to try changing locations, etc., but so far it's a real disappointment.

Comment: Item is working great! My yard is free of bugs. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because most bugs stick to the "grate" surrounding the light instead of falling thru the bottom. I have to use canned air to clean about once a week.

Summary: Bugs Beware
Comment: I was so tired of replacing my bug zappers and had a hard time finding one that would last more than one season without the bulb burning out. I reviewed several on line as all I could find in the stores were the Stingers, and I definitly didn't want another one of those. The Flowtron I ordered worked so well that my dad had to have one too. We bought an extra bulb just in case, but neither one of us has had to replace one yet. This zapper works so much better than any I have ever tried. I noticed right away a huge difference in my flying bug problem. I live next to a lake in Florida, so you can imagine the mosquito battle I had. Now I can sit outside in the evenings and enjoy the peaceful setting without continuously swatting bugs. I bought the 1 acre light and my dad only needed the 1/2 acre one. Both do a great job and would highly recommend a Flowtron Zapper to all in need.
