Customer Rating: Summary: Very decorative, but impractical Comment: We've had this feeder in use for about four months, and find it a pretty decoration for the yard, but impractical as a feeder. We added this as a fourth feeder in addition to three plastic and glass "Perky Pet" feeders we've been using for several seasons.
First, it took the hummers about six weeks to even find the feeder; there are no features on it to attract them, other than the anododized aluminum "blossoms", that are such a dull color that they are apparently un-noticed by the Birds. I finally tied a piece of fluorescent orange surveyor's tape to the top to attract attention. Now it's used, but much less than our other feeders. I suspect the metal ring gets quite hot when the sun hits it, and the birds have figured out they might get "scorched".
Also, it is very prone to fungus (mildew) growth, and the sugar solution goes bad in about half the time as in the other feeders. It is fairly difficult to decontaminate, since the wooden parts absorb the sugar and quickly turn black with mildew. We use bleach to sanitize our feeders when we clean and fill them, and the other (plastic and glass) feeders clean readily with no residue, but apparently this feeder retains bleach residue in the wooden parts, and the hummers seem to be offended and won't use it for a couple days after filling.
I'd recommend it as a decoration, to be hung under cover perhaps on a porch, but for feeding hummingbirds, I'd stick with the old faithful glass and plastic feeders for a third the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: simple, sturdy and beautiful Comment: This is a beautiful and well-constructed feeder. The parts are study and simple. The parts are easy to take apart to clean and to refill. I live in an apartment with a garden in the middle. It took a while for the hummingbirds to find it at first. Now, the youngsters have grown up and are fighting with other birds to feed in it. They can feed in flight as well as rest on the wooden platform. I found one hummingbird resting on the platform staring off into the distance for quite a long time before taking off! One disadvantage: I would recommend getting some sort of weather dome to hook over the top of the feeder to prevent rain from diluting the nectar. Otherwise hang it in a covered area where rain can't get to it. I take it back in in doors from my balcony when it rains.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful Feeder Comment: I bought this feeder for a friend and loved it so much I am ordering another for my self. My friend was thrilled with it. A good quality piece and great value.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not "For the Birds" Comment: This is a great product. It's attractive, easy to use and to clean and it's bringing wonderful hummingbird activity to the back yard. I've bought three of these now and I'd have to say I like the red-tinted ones best of all. Worth the time, money!
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth the money Comment: We've tried different types and styles of hummingbird feeders and this one is the best of them all. It's easy to clean and the hummingbirds love it.

The clear Hummingbird Paradise lantern feeder is well made, easy to use, and looks great in a tree or on the back patio. Made of redwood, brass, and etched glass, this feeder uses three copper-colored flowers to attract brilliant hummers. Because the wide base gives the birds plenty of room to land, you can hang the feeder just about anywhere. Filling the feeder is easy: simply flip it over, pop off the base, pour in a sugar solution (directions included), and quickly flip it back. Removing the base requires a bit of force, and you have to be careful not to damage the flowers when you grip, but, overall, this is a very solid, long-lasting feeder.
