Customer Rating: Summary: Better than my husband's $2,000 grill Comment: My husband has a stainless steel monster, that cost too much money. I cook on the Weber Q, it cooks more efficiently and has a better "charcoal" taste! When his big stainless one pooped out, we cooked 4 bbq chicken's on Q!! Wonderful product.
I am about to purchase another one for guest cabin!
Customer Rating: Summary: BBQing is fun again Comment: Yes,I read the rave reviews and thought ok I'm buying one today.
Set up was pretty easy and that's the main reason why I wanted this grill.I went to my local hardware store and picked up a 14.1 oz bottle of propane and a weber Q grill cover.Came home and read the directions and fired it up.I did give the grill 10 minutes to warm up.This is my first gas grill and I don't know why it took me so long to buy one.I grilled chicken thighs and WOW I don't ever remember eating bbq chicken that yummy and not dried out,LOL! anyway,I did forget to spray the grates w/pam for grills but its ok,clean up was a breeze. It's a very sturdy and heavy lil grill(40 lbs).Which gave me the impression it was gonna be around for awhile. My first option was a charbroil quickset. It was a larger grill and same price as weber Q 200 but it was flimsy. Then an aussie bondi series but I read the recall on gas leaks so I quickly crossed that one out.I really thought I'd be wasting my money on the other grills.I am ordering the stationary cart for this and getting the adapter for a bigger propane tank.I am so satisfied w/this purchase even though I didn't get it at amazon(my local store had it for cheaper). The only CONS I have is the price but the performance and portability is well worth every penny. There are lots of grills out there so do your homework and see what fits your lifestyle and budget best.Good Luck :)
Customer Rating: Summary: Minimalist piece of engineering, well done Weber Comment: Well designed, perfect size for our family, minimalist!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great design, great performer Comment: You can indeed buy a larger, cheaper grill than the Weber Q but it will likely fall quite short in terms of performance, design and durability. The Weber Q is a fantastic grill:A space saver, a great performer and portable.I purchasrd the cart and 20lb tank and use this as my primary grill.I live in a condo and the Weber Q stores neatly in an outdoor closet.I priced other grills readily available at deparment stores that were larger and perhaps had a warming shelve or side burner but in terms of quality they fell short.
The Weber Q is pure Weber quality. It will easily cook enough for 4 people. It is easy to store and easy to clean.I have not used it as a "portable" grill but assume it will perform nicely using the smaller propane cartridges. The grill is cast iron and retains heat well.I've cooked hamburgers, chops, shrimp and veggies and have been pleased with the results.
Yes, it is pricey-at 279.00 with the cart I could have purchased a larger grill but I was loking for a space saver; however It easily out performs larger grills.
I recommend following the Weber tips: Heating the grill 10 minutes before grilling and cooking with it covered;avoid poking and unnecessarily flipping your food. These are the same tips recommened by the published BBQ gurus and they make a difference with any grill.
I highly recommend this grill and even if space isn't a concern, I would buy this over a cheaper, larger grill. You won't b disapointed with the performance and design of the weber Q.
The Weber Q should last for years.I highly recommend it.
