Comment: This DustBuster is just as revolutionary to me, years later, as the first DustBuster was when it was introduced. The increase in power is a welcome improvement, as is the revised dust gate at the nozzle. The dust gate isn't perfect yet, because it seems that long hair and some dust bunnies can get caught in the crannies, but they aren't hard to fish out. The filter cleaner is great, it keeps the suction power high without being too much of a pain.
Use of the filter cleaning wheel is mandatory for maintenance. I have been able to keep suction power near the levels it had when it was new. The process takes a few steps, but the payoff is worth it. I open the nozzle and empty it of the big stuff (and pull out the hair if I have to.) I hold the body over a trash can and spin the filter cleaner wheel a few times to loosen the small debris, then pop off the filter basket. Remove the filter and give it a few taps until all of the debris falls out. Reassemble the filter basket and give the wheel a few more spins over the trash to get the fine dust out, then put it all back together. Good as new! It almost takes more time to describe it than to do it.
This DustBuster is a big improvement over the original, and a good vacuum cleaner in its own right. It picks up human and cat hair with ease, and just about anything else that you would pick up with a normal vacuum cleaner. The accessories mount on the body of the vacuum and stay secure. I can say with certainty that my house is cleaner than it was before I bought this DustBuster!
