Customer Rating: Summary: It works quite well and I like it a lot Comment: I have three of these. Well, one is still in the box and one is already 3+ years old. They are pretty accurate temperaturewise and are acceptable humiditywise. The latter never seem to be accurate no matter what digital and/or mechanical unit I tried so my expectations are not too high.
The atomic clock works only when the reception is perfect. In one of my rooms I have one of these plus a wall atomic clock. The latter always syncronizes whereas the former never. In other rooms it works OK.
Despite some shortcomings, I am very satisfied.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazon is getting sloooooooooooow Comment: I'm not sure about the Weather Station, since Amazon has taken almost 2 weeks to even ship the damn thing. Not even an email or update, until today. My wife just cancelled an order after waiting 3 weeks, but at least she got 4 notices of things being on back order. I think Amazon is becoming a waste of time. Maybe their pricing is decent, but with these delays and lack of product availability, it doesn't seem worth it. My wife got the same phone system from Staples for the same price, and didn't have to wait until the next BO notice.
I think Amazon's days are numbered...
Customer Rating: Summary: Best overall choice Comment: I spent a few hours looking for just the right weather system for under $150. I only really needed outdoor and indoor temperature. Living in Oregon, I also wanted to support a "local" manufacturer. Even without this preference, the BAR608HGA was clearly the right choice. It delivers all I want at a good price, plus indoor and outdoor humidity measurements, an auto-setting clock and a weather forecaster that predicts weather changes on the basis of changing atmospheric pressure.
I didn't give it five stars because it doesn't have the fit and finish of a truly outstanding consumer product--but as an iPod owner, I have admittedly high standards. The sliding door is a little inelegant and tends to stick, the backlight doesn't stay on as long as I would have liked, setup isn't ultra-easy...but who really cares? This is a quality product that does what it's supposed to do.
Customer Rating: Summary: It is pretty bad Comment: My unit is not very acurate, plus sometimes it doesn't communicate with the outside sensor (it is really close to the window - so they are both as close as couple of feet from each other). The weather preddiction usually doesn't really work that good - sometimes it does sometimes it doesen't so the feature is useless. Atomic clock feature is also useless - I've tried to place the unit in several different places in my apartment and it still wont find the atomic clock signal (I live in NY but there are no major buildings surrunding mine - just river so I dont know what seems to b a probblem). Oh one more thing the outtside sensor broke after aprox. 3 months so I had to replace it with a new one. Generally I don't recommend this unit at all!! What is more, I paid over 40 bucks for this piece of #$%& ! Not worth a penny!
