Customer Rating: Summary: Music that catches the heart!! Comment: I am a newcomer to this artist and recently heard him during a skating event...wonderful!! This was a beautiful CD and altho primarily in Italian, wonderful listening!! I keep it in my car and am blown away every time. Have ordered two of his CDs and not been disappointed!! The reviews on Amazon.com also helped me decide...along with the music snippets...which ones I wanted to try.
Customer Rating: Summary: Andrea Bocelli's Andrea is the most awesome album from him yet! Comment: It's true. This is Andrea's most sophisticated and, I think, most personal album to date. Fans who have been waiting since his Cieli di Toscana will not be disappointed. This is a genuine pop album. Definitely not crossover. I've let many people listen to it who thought that they wouldn't like it because it is an "opera singer," but most of them have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a true relief from the noisey and meaningless music and lyrics of most pop music today. Definitely a must for any great music lover's collection.
Customer Rating: Summary: Five stars for a duet Comment: I purchased this album for one reason only: Bocelli's "Go Where Love Goes" duet with Holly Stell. I don't mind buying CDs with one good song, I'm used to it, and I'm not on ITunes yet. I like this duet so much, I'll try to have my brother, Filipino-American tenor Marius Evangelista, record it some day with our friend, soprano Melody Versoza, to see what it sounds like when the tenor and soprano are about the same age. Also, the last note of the duet sounds unresolved to me. It's a high Bb, but I keep waiting for it to resolve to a high C. I'm not sure why they didn't, but maybe we will. By the way, Marius's debut album is available on Amazon if you care to take a look.
Customer Rating: Summary: Back in the game again! Comment: I became a fan after hearing "Cieli di Toscana." I also liked "Romanza" and "Sogno."
"Sentimento," however, seemed as dry as dust bunnies by comparison. (His promo appearance on AOL didn't help, either - he looked old, unkempt, and ill, but of course that doesn't show up on the CD.)
I was dubious about "Andrea" after being so disappointed with "Sentimento." To my delight, I LOVED the new release. Andrea is back in form as the multi-faceted performer that we enjoy, doing ballads and love songs that gladden the heart. He even uses his gravelly "jailhouse" voice on "Un Nuovo Giorno," which is probably my favorite song on this CD.
If you liked "Cieli di Toscana," I'd be willing to bet that you'll like "Andrea" as much or better!
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful CD Comment: At first I didn't like this cd as much as I liked previous one, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I specialy like song feat. Gipsy Kings.

It's no mean feat being the world's foremost crossover artist--a task that risks alienating two disparate audiences and everyone in between--but somebody had to do it, and Andrea Bocelli again walks that artistic tightrope with impressive deftness. The title may imply a casual intimacy (indeed, the singer admits to taking a more "hands-on" approach to the album's conception and production), but it's a collection that nonetheless continues to expand on the Italian tenor's ambitious internationalism. His collaboration "Sin Tu Amor" immerses his voice in the Gipsy Kings' own rich Iberian folk-pop fusion with compelling results, while "Where Love Goes" (a musical focal point of the film Lazarus Child), his English language duet with 11-year-old prodigy Holly Stell, achieves an almost liturgical grace. "Tu Ci Sei" (You Are There) continues in the romantic vein of his familiar theme "Con Te Partiro" (Time to Say Goodbye), while the single "Dell' Amore Non Si Sa" (With Love You Never Know) features Bocelli in a signature dramatic tour de force collaboration with arranger Mauro Malavasi, the accomplished producer of the singer's Romanza and Sogno albums. Bocelli's shrewd taste and vocal prowess here not only again redeem an oft-maligned genre, but elevate it considerably in the bargain. --Jerry McCulley
