Summary: Best Portable Gaming Machine
Comment: The PSP is the best portable gaming device out there on the market. It has a lot of functions such as playing games, looking at pictures, watching movies, listening to music, and surfing the web. It has a very nice looking bright screen. The screen may be small but it doesn't really affect the game play. Music sounds good on this device and the speakers go up pretty loud. The battery holds up a good charge. The case that is comes with is not that good so I recommend getting a PGP. The PSP is also excellent for watching movies.

Note: This is a GAMING device. Don't buy this and expect to use it as your primary MP3 player or web browser. This device is too bulky when used as an MP3 player and I don't recommend taking it to the gym. Also, you have to buy memory cards to store the music on. The web browser on the PSP is slow. This is because it runs on 802.11b.

Recommended Accessories:
PGP (case)
Screen Protector
Memory Card- at least 512MB
Games

Summary: Good...but Nintendo knows what they are doing.
Comment: The PSP is the only portable system to be able to compete with Nintendo in the handheld department, besides the Game Gear.
I have both the PSP and DS and I must say I prefer the DS.

Heres my take on the PSP
Pros
- Better graphics
- Better sound quality
- Great games and Sony exclusives {more mature games}
- Can watch movies, listen to music, and more.

Cons
- Delicate, espeicaly the screen.
- Expensive games, and add ons
- Control layout in most games are hard without two analog pads

It is a good system but, the online gaming isn't as good as Nintendo's wi fi and it cost alot to purchase for.

Summary: Great!
Comment: PSP has really been a good system for me over the last year. It's passed the time when I was bored. The only problem is, everyone is saying all the gams are ports of PS2 ones, and why don't you just buy DVD's. Well, I can't really complainbecause I don't have a PS2, and I don't have many DVD's, so all these games are new to me.
The problem is not Sony, it's Sony's third party company's. After a recent wave a good games, they've gone back to making ports. The third party comapny's aren't using the PSP to it's full extent, but I think whn they do, we will have a great hanheld.
The mp3/wma feature is great. I don't really need that big of a MSD. Mine is 256 MB and I have 100 WMA songs, all my game saves, 50 photos, a Loco Roco demo, 2 cartoons, and still 6 MB of room to spare for future game purchases\downloads.
Videos are nice and high quality. I never really cared bout special features, only the movie.
Games are nice, I don't have a PS2, remember so they're all new to me. I reallly like every game I own and there are about 30 or so I still want to buy, along with a bunch more movies, maybe a 2GB MSD. The games have great graphics, but the online feature could be better for some games. Madde NFL 06' and SOCOM have the best online featre for all the games I own, although I may be better ones.
Overall the PSP has really amazed me, and I'm glad I got it.

Summary: Adult Entertainment Device
Comment: I have both a Nitendo DS and a PSP and they are entirely different devices. The PSP has much more and advanced technology built into the little form factor. You get wireless internet access right out of the box (with a code update) a high resolution screen, an MP3 and MP4(movie) player, and a movie player. The UMD is really quite an amazing technology that Sony is completely screwing up by keeping proprietary, and that is my only complaint of the entire system. And soon with the newer 2GB+ memory cards you will be able to download games instead of needed to purchase a UMD! It really is a portable media device with adult oriented games. If you are over 16 then I would strongly recommend this device as your primary travel friend.

Editorial Reviews:

The awe and excitement that has made Sony Playstation so popular as a TV game now lets you take it on the road and do more than you magined. The PSP is more than a portable version of Playstation. It's a portable entertainment center with MP3 and MP4 download and play capabilities. This nearly pocketable portable has a built-in, bright, high-resolution 4.3 inch (diagonal) color TFT LCD widescreen (for 16:9 perspective), built-in stereo speakers, and amazing connectivity. With an integrated 802.11b WiFi processor, you can share your online games over wireless networks - where available. In addition to playing exciting games exclusively designed for the PSP on its UMD drive, there are also a number of movies available. UMD is a small, high-capacity optical disc that allows up to 1.8 GB - providing an extremely versatile format for games, music, and video. A built-in USB 2.0 slot enables computer connectivity for downloading music as ATRAC and MP3 files, video as MP4 files, photos as JPEG and online connectivity. Files may also be stored on MemoryStick Duo digital-media cards. Built-in stereo speakers Input / Output Connectivity - 1 audio out, 1 microphone in, 1 control connector, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 Memory Stick Pro Duo slot, IrDA wireless, IR remote (allows simultaneous multiple PSPs to be connected) / Integrated Communications - 802.11b Wi-Fi Sony Proprietary UMD Drive Power - PSP's battery is a removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It's possible to charge the PSP while using the system Control Buttons - Square, Triangle, X, and Circle face buttons, a digital pad, start, select, an analog thumb stick and two shoulder buttons on the top / Brightness control and Sound mode selectors Built-in copyright protection system utilizes a combination of a unique disc ID, a 128-bit AES encryption key for media, and individual ID for each PSP unit
