Summary: Brilliant
Comment: These guys are fabulous - each an accomplished artist in his own right. Brilliant voices. The CD is very relaxing, passionate, highly enjoyable and the production here is better than on the first. Live they sound magnificent (no help from studio backup that a lot of artists rely on). Maybe some of these reviewers should keep their days jobs! There is a load of rubbish on the music scene nowadays. Thank goodness these guys rock. Hey guess what, they're goodlooking too!!

Summary: Not surprisingly, it's just more of the same
Comment: As I listened to this, I am reminded of a friend's funeral I attended many years ago. Midway through the service, the singer who apparently served as the congregation's own George Beverly Shea stood up and belted out a few gospel chesnuts. The poor man, approximately a gazillion years old, may have once had a decent singing voice, but the years had badly eroded whatever technique he may have had. The result was gruesome.
However, the equally geezerly congregation (apparently inured to this due to repeated vocal assaults) positively gushed after the service about the wonderful music. This is what they had come to expect about eight decades of this singing, so by their standards, he deserved a standing ovation.
Similarly, if you liked Il Divo the first time around, you'll be happy with this over-produced, musically suspect effort. Do you like goofy spanish translations of 1970's ballads? Do you like excessively lush, swelling orchestration that practically drowns out the singers at times? Do you like monstrously wobbly vibratos that are so out of control that they threaten at times to cover three different notes? Do you think ensemble singing equates to four guys trying to outshout each other? You are in luck, because if this is what you desire, this album is an all-you-can-eat buffet.
As a bonus, Celine Dion helps to raise the cornball level to new, uncharted heights with the breathtakingly cheesy "I Believe in You." Wow --- just wow. Words alone can not do this justice. The sound of my vomiting might be a more apt commentary.

Summary: Very Poor Quality in Recording
Comment: I picked up this CD and was very, very disappointed with the recording quality. The very first song, "All By Myself", had background white noise like I was playing a 1940's LP record. The fifth song, "Si Tu Me Amas", had random clicks in it. I gave up listening to the CD after that.
On a different note, I thought a few of the song selections were a little corny.

Comment: This CD is amazing. It takes me to a place of joy, love, romance and passion. I'm impressed with the talent and vocals of this group. I first heard this CD in Starbucks and was stunned by the intensity of their voices. I took a chance and bought it and I've been hooked ever since. Fellas, if you want to romance your girl, this is the music to set the stage for a romantic and enchanting evening. Bravo Il Divo!!!!

Comment: Picked this CD up at Starbucks today, not knowing what I would get myself into, never heard of them - they just looked cute on the cover and then .... Oh boy! The perfect blend between Luciano Pavarotti and the Boston Pops!!!!!
I recommend this album to all who can enjoy and appreciate beautiful voices unwilling to be put only in either the opera or pop box. Reminded me a lot of the legendary live concert of the "Three Tenors" on the occassion of the Soccer World Cup in Italy a few years back. I will go now and get also their debut album and look forward to more beautiful music to come!!!!!

There are those who will tell you that Il Divo, the multinational quartet of sharp-dressed crooners, synthesize Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion to concoct something worse. And they will not be entirely incorrect. Yet it's hard to argue with a sensation that has entrenched itself so deeply so fast, and a first spin of Ancora makes it harder still: while predictable selections like "I Believe in You," a duet with Celine, and "You Raise Me Up," a Spanish-sung Josh Groban retread, ratchet up the treacle, the foreign-language tracks that are truly foreign lend this foursome enough Euro mystique to redeem them. Particularly melt-worthy is "Poor Que Tu M'aimes Encore," the closer. Singing in tongues, on the face of it, sounds like a bad idea. Ancora counters that with bold voices, brimming hearts, and its cover--if the songs aren't quite enough to seduce you, the singers might just do the trick. --Tammy La Gorce
